In the heart of Swinoujscie, in a place that still remembers the pre-war times, there is a unique Tenement House under the Chestnuts. Erected at the beginning of the twentieth century, it originally served as a residential building, and now houses a unique guesthouse, where you can spend your dream vacation by the sea. This is an ideal place for anyone looking for something more than ordinary accommodation. With us you can feel the spirit of the old days, relaxing in spacious and comfortable rooms.
In 2003-2004 the building underwent a major renovation. Much has changed, but we have made every effort to take care of the elements that reflect the charm and soul of the building. From two apartments, which still housed a teacher and the owner of a local colonial store before the war, we created a space for anyone who wants to relax in a unique place, communing with history. Among other things, the interior stucco (in 3 rooms), exterior stucco, atmospheric and unique lemon tiled stoves with gilding, as well as part of the historic balustrade have been preserved from the old days, allowing us to recreate its former character.
Renovation work on historical elements was conducted by Mr. Stanislaw Motyka, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. As a result, it was possible to save from oblivion the historic stucco, the original design of the balustrade and other unique elements that distinguish our Tenement from other city buildings. The unique style of the Tenement House is one of the features that are admired by our guests. The old window frames and doors or the balustrade recreated to resemble the original, are design elements that are highlighted as special, beautiful and unique.
Along the stairs in a unique gallery you can admire the works of stone colorist Stefan Jędrzejewski, as well as Leszek Jozef Mather, Elżbieta Czajka, Agnieszka Grochowska and Margrét Gosia Mariansdóttir, which highlight the unique character of our house.
The renovation carried out allowed us to expose what is most beautiful - the unique history of our building. The work carried out was appreciated by the local authorities, and for the restoration of the Tenement House under the Chestnuts we received a Triton - an award from the Mayor of Swinoujscie in the category of object of the year.
From the very beginning, we have placed an intense focus on ecology. Concern for the welfare of the planet is as important to us as the heritage and history of our building. For this reason, already during the renovation work we implemented technologies and solutions based on renewable sources. Hot water and part of the heating has already come from renewable sources - solar systems with a buffer - for 20 years. In 2022, we received a loan from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Szczecin (https://wfos.szczecin.pl/), for the implementation of the task "Implementation of a heat pumping station based on a heat pump with a bottom source of up to 40 kW for the needs of hot water in a residential and commercial building in Swinoujscie, 14 Paderewskiego Street".
Phase I of the work began on June 5, 2023. Drilling work was done in 14 days, and gas furnaces were finally replaced by a ground source heat pump.
This is not the end of the story, as we plan further development and investment in green solutions. We want our facility to take advantage of the opportunities brought by photovoltaics. We also plan to recover rainwater.
